David Slaven

Owner:  BIg4 Socks
              Spare Time Pro Shop

David has been active in bowling since 1972, starting at the age 5.  Bowling twice in youth leagues on Saturdays and a travel league on Sundays, he developed a love for the game from his brothers Eddie and Ron.  David also credits his dad, who set pins by hand (at 5 cents per game) for his passion for the sport.

David has accomplished alot during his bowling career.  In 2003 he began coaching the Muncie South High School Bowling Team, taking his ladies team to the Indiana State Finals 7 times.  in 2013, Craig Monroe, one of Muncie South's top bowlers won the Indiana State Singles Championships.  David was also instrumental in starting the Indiana Middle School Bowling program in the Muncie, Indiana area.

In addition to Big4 Socks, David is the owner of the Spare TIme Pro Shop located at Munsee Lanes.

David has served in many capacities in the local youth and adult bowling associations, most recenty as the President for the Muncie USBC Association.

David still finds time to compete in many leagues each week in the Muncie area.  His high average of 226,  multiple 300's, 800's and league and city championships have helped him reach the level of one of the best Muncie has to offer in the sport of bowling.

During his search to find a solution to fix personal issues with his bowling shoes, often wearing two pairs of socks, David developed the product calle Big4 Socks.  His goal was to develop a form fitting sock, that also filled the voids in the toe area and heel of the shoe.

He is on a mission to ensure not only bowlers but athletes of other sports are aware of Big4 Socks and the amazing things they can do for your game.  As David likes to say,  "We are changing bowling one pair at a time!"
